Position Title:  Program Specialist

Position Description:

Children and Family Futures (CFF) is seeking a full-time Program Specialist to serve as a support team member on federally-funded grants to develop and provide technical assistance and expertise on collaborative practice regarding efforts to improve services to children of parents with substance use disorders. Technical assistance areas include a range of practice and policy topics focused on improving child welfare, court and substance abuse treatment procedures for families with substance use disorders and child abuse/neglect.

The Program Specialist will provide facilitation of project communications, support the Training and Technical Assistance Team, and develop materials.

The Program Specialist will work closely with the Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Team to support ongoing project work in an organized, timely, and efficient manner. The project work includes the tracking and delivery of training and technical assistance requests received by the project and data entry within the TTA Tracker system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the TTA Team in responding to training and technical assistance requests
  • Manage the web-based database of TTA request records
  • Run regular database queries and prepare data reports using Excel
  • Provide quality assurance for TTA Tracker data entry
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc TTA reports
  • Participate in weekly TTA Team meetings and other NCSACW project meetings
  • Develop materials and publications
  • Support the planning and implementation of in-person and web-based TTA events, including developing agendas, materials and handouts
  • Marketing and develop marketing materials
  • Support other program activities of the National Conference on Substance Abuse, Child Welfare and the Courts
  • Travel to various locations throughout the U.S. and Washington, DC as needed
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned


  • Master’s degree in related health or science discipline or
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related health or science discipline with 2-years work experience in related field and/or industry
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliverables
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access
  • Able and willing to travel periodically (local and overnight, inclusive of weekends)
